For over 20 years, Compagnie Pyramid has been a driving force behind hip-hop dance and urban culture in the Charente-Maritime region of France. With an artistic approach akin to mime, gestural theater and comedy, it presents an unusual and rare approach in today's choreographic landscape.

The dancers let their instincts, freedom, improvisation and imagination speak for themselves. Their reinterpretation of hip-hop dance, in all its capacity for openness, is a visual tale that resembles a daydream and extolls the poetry of everyday life.

In dealing with the subject of memory and memories, their fragmentation and oblivion, the dancers perform a series of collective choreographies and whirlwind solos, incorporating a humor and comedy for a lively and energetic performance.

Choreographer Fouad Kouchy simplified the staging and set design to give more space to evoke a dreamlike cityscape. On stage sits an undulating bench lit by a single streetlamp set on a sloping platform, a fantastical streetscape and a nod to the streets that saw the birth of hip-hop culture.

Memories are what make us who we are, reflecting our lives and our identity. 
Memories are also what bind us to the passage of time.
They become damaged and fragmented, like feathers that escape our grasp.
So, are we really sure that we remember?

Those feathers which, when they fly away, make us remember... 
But as time goes by, the feathers fall and the vitality fades. 
What are we left with but this naked, raw body, revealing our scars?
